Meeting a woman is really very simple. Look her in the eyes, smile and speak. It almost doesn't matter what you say - just speak! Women love for the man to make the first move. We want a signal that he is interested - that he has NOTICED!

It's 2008 but women still are looking for a man to take the lead, it implies to us male strength. It can start with that first approach. Eye contact, smiling, moving over to where she is and speaking - "Have I ever met you before?" "That blue dress makes your eyes look beautiful." " Here we are stuck in this line together so let me introduce myself to you."

JUST DO IT! No lost opportunities -it's just that simple. Walk over and start even the smallest conversation with a woman and she will think you are the best thing ever - that you approached her, turned to her, walked over to her. And she will feel the first glimmer of possibility. She is looking for a man who will understand her and understand her needs. Look, he already has started that by making the first move. Do it with a sense of humor and you've made a fantastic start.

Women are plaqued with the belief that we may not be worthy to be loved. That's why we work so hard in a relationship and give so much - to earn that love. We need to feel that you are the person who will recognize our worth and value us. That is how we feel safe in a relationship. When you make the first move you are saying " I take action. I see you and you look interesting. I want to know more about you. " Sometimes there is magic and sometimes the conversation won't flow and it can be awkward - but so what?

So, guys, forget the rehearsed lines, the clever repartee - what we want is a person that is wonderful to us. Walk across a room to say - "I couldn't let you get away without meeting you."

What makes us attractive? What attracts us? Have you ever noticed that quite often the funny guy is the one to get the girl?

Have you ever been interested in a very attractive person only to find that you've lost interest because they just aren't fun to be with? And then you meet someone who is not particularly physically attractive but has a wonderful personality and are great fun to be with. That person becomes more and more physically attractive to you because of their personality, their energy and spirit - and 9 times out of 10 a sense of humor is at the root of that enjoyable personality. I'll take a man that makes me laugh every time over a great looking guy.

Laughter is so important in life. It is an indication of intelligence, life force, confidence, and how you relate to other people. Laughter is critically important in love whether it is in the attraction of love or the maintenance of love.

Learn to laugh at yourself. So many people are unable to laugh at themselves because of their insecurities and fears. Lighten up! We all make mistakes.When we laugh at ourselves it indicates how much we are able to put into perspective what is important in life. A sense of joy creates an accepting atmosphere that draws people in.

Laughter can be an aphrodisiac. It creates an intimate atmosphere, a moment to be remembered. It implies there is more, more, more to me - just wait until you get to know me.

A sense of humor gives a guy the absolutely perfect thing to say to break the ice or start up a conversation - and it's not some elaborate canned line. It is just a unique spin on how to communicate something simple that is going on at the moment. A sense of humor is different from sarcasm or poking fun. I'm talking about a man that appreciates his life, has fun and sees what is around him through accepting, joyous eyes. Women want to be surrounded by that energy.

So, how do you develop a sense of humor that will help your relationship?

Lighten up about yourself! Really see yourself in a way that acknowledges how goofy you are about certain things - we all are. Get a chuckle out of yourself. This will open up a whole new way of being and that will be communicated as a positive spin on life. That is attractive.
Notice the world around you - learn to get a chuckle from that also. See your life through new eyes. There is just so much we have control of in life so learning how to enjoy the ride, trusting that you're going to land on your feet,makes others want to take the ride with you.
When you don't take yourself so seriously you will be able to approach a woman understanding it isn't necessary to have something brilliant to say. And, if you don't get a good response - then chuckle about that too - and move on. Confidence is very attractive to women.
Smile - smile - smile - have fun. Include others in that fun and women will love to be around you.

You don't need to be great at delivering a punch line. A good sense of humor is about a way of perceiving yourself and the world around you - not about jokes. YOU are the best comic you know. Your life , the stories of your life and what is going on in your life at this moment the funniest material around. If you can't see that, you've got work to do to lighten up!

I love getting gifts from my sweetie, but gifts are not what makes me happy. If I haven't been loved in the way that is satisfying for me, nothing else is going to make me happy. The question is - what do women really want?

In his book, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, John Gray says that "men and women differ in all areas of their lives. Not only do men and women communicate differently but they think, feel, perceive, react, respond, love, need and appreciate differently. They almost seem to be from different planets, speaking different languages and needing different nourishment."

John Gray says, "Imagine that women have a love tank similar to the gas tank on a car. It needs to be filled over and over again. Doing many little things is the secret for filling a woman's love tank. A woman feels loved when her love tank is full. Lots of little things are needed to top off her tank."

What are some of the "little" things women need to top off their tank?

How about giving her a hug and kiss as soon as you return home in the evenings.
Ask her specific questions about her day that show you are aware of what she was planning to do that day.
Take out the trash without being asked
Warm up her car engine before she goes out on cold mornings (I love that one!).
Turn off the tv and look her in the eyes and have a conversation.
Try asking her what will make her feel loved.

So don't give up on giving her the perfect token of your affection - but first make sure her love tank is full. That's when she'll really feel the love behind your gift.
